BIKE to Pinnacle, HIKE and BIKE back!

Bike & Hike 2012The 3rd Annual Lester M. Vahsholtz BIKE & HIKE FOR ALS features an 18 mile bike ride, a 3.5 mile hike, and an 18 mile return bike trip.  Fully Supported ride featuring our transition station to hold your bike and gear while you hike.  We’re raising awareness and funds for ALS Association of Arkansas.

This event is fast becoming one of the premiere bike and hike events.

bikehikesquareThe event starts at 7am. in North Little Rock’s Riverfront Park at MARK TWAIN Riverboat & Sandbar Lounge. You’ll ride from NLR to Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Hike Pinnacle, then ride back to NLR!  Then cool off, or sit out on the deck of the Sandbar Lounge.

Les Vahsholtz: the inspiration to Bike and Hike for ALS:

Tim Vahsholtz, whose father, Les, was diagnosed with ALS in January 2012, wanted to do something different to bring awareness to the community about this disease.

Lester M. Vahsholtz, the inspiration behind BIKE & HIKE for ALS.Tim says, “I remember, when I was growing up, how my Dad, my sister, and I would always ride our bicycles after dinner.  I have always been into cycling since then, and my Dad started riding again a few years ago on one of my Orbea bicycles.  It is because of our enthusiasm for cycling, and Dad’s enjoyment of the sport, that I wanted to do this event in his honor and memory.
